Named ‘Act for Good’, the campaign is offering the chance to win VIP fashion experiences in exchange for further donations to A Common Thread. At first launch, the campaign is offering the opportunity to join famed photographer Annie Leibovitz on a Vogue photo shoot, and receive a signed print and a signed collection of Leibovitz’s books.
A new experience will be announced each week, the CFDA said, and will feature fashion industry elites including Huda Kattan, Tracy Anderson, Anastasia Soare, Anna Wintour and Tom Ford, among others.Every donation to Act for Good made through Omaze will put the donating party in the running to win one of the campaign’s experiences, and will go to support A Common Thread. “When Tom Ford and I started A Common Thread, we weren’t sure how the industry and individuals would respond—so many people were, and still are, hurting,” said editor-in-chief of Vogue, U.S. and artistic director and global content advisor of Condé Nast, Anna Wintour.”But we have been overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve seen.” “I am thrilled to join forces with Omaze to create a series of exciting experiences, to help raise funds and awareness for A Common Thread,” she said.“The industry is still facing hard challenges, and the mission of A Common Thread is as vital today as it was when we started,” added Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA.“Working with Omaze to raise additional funds helps increase our grant-making while giving people the chance to win one-of-a-kind experiences.” According to the CFDA, A Common Thread has raised over $4 million since its launch in late March, including donations from PVH, Amazon Fashion and Ralph Lauren, among others.
